Chicken Turtle Hatched at the Zoo's Cypress Swamp Exhibit
The North Carolina Zoo's Cypress Swamp exhibit saw a "birth" of sorts, too, during January.
This diminutive little fellow (female?) hatched on January 17. Another, nearly identical looking, Chicken Turtle hatched the week before, as well.
Chicken Turtles are exhibited in a tank next to the American Alligators.
