Under the leadership of State President Catherine Horne, The North Carolina Society
Children of the American Revolution is proud to join the North Carolina Zoological Society in supporting the Valerie H. Schindler Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at the North Carolina Zoo. This Center provides free veterinary care to injured and orphaned animals that are native to North Carolina, with the goal of returning them to the wild.
The Center helps owls, turtles, snakes, squirrels and other small animals, rescuing about 1,000 individuals a year. Zoo veterinarians, and the veterinary students and residents who study at the Zoo, treat the animals and oversee their rehabilitative care. Donations from the
Children of the American Revolution will help protect these animals and will support Zoo efforts to train other veterinarians to treat the complex medical problems that can harm free-ranging wild animals.
Catherine Horne - "I hope that each and every one of you can be inspired by these animals just like I was; they need our protection to survive in today’s world. I appreciate any and all donations that are made to this project. Join the C.A.R. and NC Zoo Society as we Preserve America’s Future."
To support this project, click on the level of adoption you wish to make ($30, $60 or $100) and you will be forwarded to a Web page that will let you select the animal you want to adopt and will provide a space for you to type in the name that you want to appear on the Adoption Certificate. From there, you will be directed to our Secure Check Out page to complete you adoption purchase.
