Bee A Bear's Still Buzzin'

06/20/2008
Black Bears will be the main feature this weekend (June 21-22), and next weekend, on June 28, the Zoo will present a Teddy Bear Fair for children.

Volunteers and the keepers who look after the Black Bears will be out in full force this weekend to answer visitors' questions about our bears and other Black Bears. Did you know that some Black Bears are white, some are blue and some are brown? Do you know if Black Bears really like honey, or is that a myth? Can they climb trees?

The last weekend in June, the Zoo's veterinary technicians will hold a Teddy Bear Clinic so that children can bring their stuff bears (and other animals) in for a yearly medical exam.  Rick Hubbard will be here, too, performing his beary popular Teddy Bear Kazoobie show.

Both weekends promise a whole day of fun for parents, children and friends who want to learn and play  together.
