Winter Weather Closes Zoo December 1512/14/2005
With
temperatures predicted to dip below freezing and freezing rain expected to make
conditions feel even worse, many of the zoo’s animals will be kept off exhibit.
Zoo officials are also concerned for the safety and comfort of visitors and
opted to close the park until the weather improves.
The zoo’s “Holiday of Lights” Christmas light show will operate on its normal schedule Thursday from 6 – 10 p.m. as the weather is expected to clear by late afternoon. Essential zoo employees, such as those who provide care for the animals, are expected to be at work as usual on Thursday. Other personnel will have the option of working, coming in later in the day, or taking the entire day off by using leave time. |
