The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association: Official Sponsor of the Zoo's Wild Veterinary Camps
The North Carolina Zoo’s veterinary staff leads camp sessions, most of which take place in the Zoo’s Fredric Moir Hanes Veterinary Center.
All Campers use the Center’s treatment rooms, X-ray and lab facilities during hands-on experiences with endoscopes, microscopes and other equipment.
Tuition covers all expenses—snacks, scrub shirt, lunch, equipment and supplies.
Campers learn to safely handle several species of animals and to give physical exams and bandage dogs.
