NC Zoo's 2013 Veterinary Camps

Explore the Dream of Becoming a Zoo Veterinarian

The North Carolina Zoo’s veterinary staff leads camp sessions, most of which take place in the Zoo’s Fredric Moir Hanes Veterinary Center.

All Campers use the Center’s treatment rooms, X-ray and lab facilities during hands-on experiences with endoscopes, microscopes and other equipment.Campers learn to safely handle several species of animals and to give physical exams and bandage dogs.



Co-educational Day Camp Dates:

$259 for Zoo Society members - $299 for non Zoo Society members*

July 12 -14 (Girls only); July 19-21 (Co-ed);For Rising 10 Graders - College Freshman

    Scholarship Information

    A small number of scholarships are available for foster children, the children of Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans and children in families with low incomes. The amount of the scholarship is based on financial need. To apply, download the Scholarship Form and return it and documenting materials to the NC Zoo Society; 4403 Zoo Parkway; Asheboro, NC 27205.

    * The tuition fee provides a Zoo Society family membership to a camper's family.
