Other Memorial Opportunities
Seats of Honor (Benches)
For a contribution of $1,000, designate a bench in honor
or remember a friend or family member.
You can choose from among a number of benches in different
locations in the park. An engraved brass plaque is attached to bench
bearing the name of the person being honor or remembered through this
gift.
Picnic Shelters
For a contribution of $3,200, sponsor a picnic shelter in honor or
in memory of a loved one. An engraved brass plaque is affixed to
the shelter bearing the name of person being honor or remembered
through this gift.
Art in the Zoo
Many works of art, mostly sculptures, have been placed in the Zoo.
An Art Master Plan includes several memorial and honorarium
opportunities. Many are budgeted between $5,000 and $10,000 and even as
high as $300,000. Please contact the Development Office to learn more
about the art available for sponsorship in the park.
Plant Collection
Did you know that the Zoo’s plant collection was valued at three times
more than its animal collection! Gardens and plant collections in the
African and North American regions are available for sponsorships.
Prices range between $8,000 and $12,000.
Animal Collection
Animal collections in the African and North American regions are
available for naming opportunities. Your name would be placed on
appropriate signage inside the Park and larger sponsorships are
recognized on donor pylons at the North American entrance. Prices vary.
Animal Exhibits
Animal habitats can be sponsored to honor or to memorialize a friend or
loved one or just to show corporate citizenry. To sponsor a habitat and
receive name recognition, it will take 50 percent of the habitat’s full
construction cost. To sponsor larger capital projects and buildings, it
will take 40 percent of the construction cost.
