Benefit values are calculated using benefits that are available above the family-plus level. Life members may choose to receive 10 guest passes per year. Many members do not request these passes. We calculate the use of these passes based on three years of member requests. In recent years, an average of 30 percent of the life members attended the life member social. We assume that, over a ten-year period, each life member will attend three socials, or one every three years. The calculations regarding the value of the social to life members is multiplied by three.
