Meet the Candidates

2008 capitoVote or I’ll Croak!     Candidate 1

Carolina Gopher Frog

(Rana capito)

My Campaign Slogan

I am not now, nor have I ever been, a Toad!
I am rare, round and love the underground.

My Campaign Promise

I’ll help Keep North Carolina Green and Clean.
A vote for me is a vote to protect rare and wonderful frogs (and toads, too, even though, I am not a toad!)

If elected, I will leap on the bandwagon to help people protect my neighborhood (the Longleaf Pine forest in the Sandhills and the Coastal Plains) and wetlands and forest all across the state.

My Campaign Promise

I’ll help Keep North Carolina Green and Clean! I’ve got relatives living from the coast to the mountains and the Sandhills to the Virginia border. I want all of them and all of you to have clean water and air!

If you elect me (or if you don’t), you can listen for the thrill of my trill from May all through the summer. I sing to attract females and to celebrate the rain! (That’s why some of my admirers call me a “rain frog.”)

A vote for me links you to treefrogs across half of the United States.
