Amphibian Crisis

Almost all of the Earth’s frogs, toads and other amphibians are heading toward possible extinctions. Unless the conservation community draws together NOW, we may find ourselves in a world without tadpoles or pollywogs or the evening choruses rendered by tree frogs and toads.

In an all out effort to halt these looming extinctions, zoo professionals from around the world are coming together to share information, to develop captive breeding and protection programs, and to create education programs that help environmentally-conscious people learn how to protect the frogs and the waterways that belong to our local neighborhoods, our homelands and the world.

If you care about amphibians and other wildlife and want to learn more about keeping habitats healthy for frogs and other living beings, click on the links below.

We will update this page as new information comes in about these world-wide efforts to protect amphibians, so check back when you have time.

Thank you for caring about the diversity of life on Earth.
