ASI – ANIMAL SCENE INVESTIGATION

Turn over a new leaf and find out what you’re walking on! Using all our senses, we will take a closer look at what animals have been doing, where they’ve been doing it, and how to tell they’ve been there. Get down and dirty discovering the natural world around us. We will explore tracks, scat, homes, and nests on our adventures both in and around the park.

ZOO DOO

When you think of the Zoo the first things that come to mind are the animals and zoo keepers, but a zoo cannot run on keepers alone. Let me tell you it’s a zoo out there! From cutting carrots to planting pumpkins, to scooping poop and testing temperatures, you’ll be amazed at the kinds of jobs people have and the things that go on here at the N.C. Zoo.

Screech Owls, and Bobcats and Snakes, OH MY! Learn about the many different animals found right here in our Norht Carolina backyards! We’ll explore where their homes are and how they live where they do. We will also tour several Zoo exhibits to meet a few of our native education animals.

Take Action and become an Ambassador for the Arctic! The Arctic is home to some exciting animals with really cool adaptations: but warming waters are creating new challenges for these cool critters. You will visit the arctic animals at the Zoo as you begin your quest to learn how you can make a difference keep Arctic wildlife out of hot water.
