does the N.C. Zoo specialty plate cost?
A: The cost is
$30 — $20 of which will come back to the Zoo Society to support the Zoo's growing conservation programs and $10 will be retained by the State of North Carolina. A: The plate will arrive AFTER we pile up 300 sales. That is when the North Carolina’s Division of Motor Vehicles will begin pressing them out. Q; What
happens if the Zoo Society does not sell 300 plates?
A: You will get your money back.
Q: Is my purchase tax
deductible?
A. Part of the purchase is tax deductible. You can deduct the $20 that comes back to the Zoo Society.
Q: Will I get a receipt
for my purchase?
A: Yes. Once we gather 300 applications and submit them to DMV, that office will issue you a receipt. Meanwhile, once the DMV approves the plate and sends us a notice, we will send you a receipt for $20 that will confirm your tax-deductible gift.
Q: If I personalize my Society plate, which will increase my purchase price to $60, will the Zoo Society receive more than $20 as a donation?
A: No. The Zoo Society receives funding only for the portion of the cost that relates to the purchase of our specialty plate. Your tax-deduction will remain at $20.
Q: I have
more questions. Whom should I contact?
