2019 Wild Animal Science Camps

Important Information for Junior and Senior Wild Animal Science Camps

Campers will engage in the same activities that guide the Zoo's field biologists when they are working in the wild to save free-ranging elephants, gorillas, salamanders and more. They will use radio telemetry, camera traps, night-vision equipment and more to study native wildlife and the Zoo's exotic animals. At the end of the first day, students will camp by the African Plains exhibit and will conduct night-time research on lemurs.

Junior Camp dates for 2019 are June 8-9 and for September 14-15.

Senior Camp dates are June 29-30.

All camps are co-educational.

Camp Size
Each camp is limited to 16 campers.

Camp fees cover all expenses. The estimated cost of goods and services for this camp is $30. All or nearly all of the remaining cost should be tax-deductible as a donation to the NC Zoo Society. Donations support Zoo wildlife conservation projects.
